I took this looking out my balcony. please be kind enough to point out the mistakes i have done and the improvements that can be made. just stumbling around..... so please help me out :)
Hi Partha - this is a nice start. A few tips that I would do different (and I'm no expert!) 1) watch the edges of your frame You have a lot of sky on top compared to the bikes which are kind of cut off at the bottom. Usually it's better to keep things either in the frame or out but not half and half as it tends to lead the eye out of the picture. 2) Pick a subject in the photo and bring the focus there. In this case the tree in the center is the most likely subject so maybe focus tighter there. Don't be afraid to crop your photos in post processing to a different view. Like cut out from just above the top of the front tree to the sky. This would make the photo more square but that's no problem especially when displaying on the web. 3) Move around for a good vantage point Since you took this on your balcony you are more limited to how you can move but in this case I think the bikes and broken fence are more interesting than the other trees and that fence in the top left. If you went outside and took the shot so the bikes make up the bottom of the shot (including road and all of bikes) and the tree without the fence or road make up the rest of the shot I think you would have a much more interesting photo.
Hope that helps !!

...and to add to Jason's list. One golden rule is not to place the subject dead center. Never Never--but sometimes you need to. When? Thats something you will know when you mater this rule.
