You dont really need a tripod always to shoot night shots. Place your camera on a steady and sturdy base, like a wall, sometimes on the ground or some support that can aim your camera towards the subject, put the timer mode on your camera and shoot. putting on timer mode will reduce the noise that may have resulted while clicking the button.
